Inspired by Emily Noyes Vanderpoel's book Color Problems - A practical manual for the lay student of colour, I subjectively evoke my experiences and memories of ochres and earths: a landscape, an architecture, an object, a watercolour, a feeling related to ochre materials and colours. With 25 squares of gouache, each board proportionally studies the hues of a precise context. All the shades that these pigments offer harmonises with other natural shades. From these colour ranges, in an uncertain, almost suspended, space/time emerges a certain sobriety and the notion of timelessness.
